With Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple’s rumored iPhone 8 poised to come with Edge to Edge displays, Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 6 isn’t far behind either. The Chinese smartphone maker will launch two Mi 6 variants–one with a regular flat LCD display and other a OLED curved display similar to Galaxy Edge series. Both the Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC that was first unveiled at CES in Las Vegas.
XIAOMI MI 6 RELEASE DATE
Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to launch next month ahead of both Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. The company is tipped to officially announce the devices on a February 6 event. The Chinese multinational, however, has failed to confirm the same.
The latest leaks have it that the flagship has already entered mass production. Chinese analyst Sun Changxy shared information that the device is right on schedule with Snapdragon 835 manufacturing going on smoothly. Earlier reports had indicated the delay in the release of the Xiaomi Mi 6 owing to problems in procuring the new chipsets.
A benchmark test supposedly of Xiaomi Mi6 even surfaced on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. The benchmark showed a score of a whopping 2,10,329 which is highest ever for smartphone. The high score has been cited as the evidence of the Snapdragon 835.
XIAOMI MI 6 FEATURES/SPECS
In terms of Xiaomi Mi 6 specifications, the handset is rumored to come in three processor variants–Mi 6S, Mi 6E and the Mi 6P. The Mi 6S is the one packing an SD 835 chipset and the Mi 6E possibly has either a MediaTek Helio or Exynos chipset inside. The 6P is speculated to be powered with the company’s own Pinecone chipset.
The Mi 6 is set to come in two variants a flat display and curved edge display. The flat version will come with 4GB RAM while the premium variant will boast a whopping 6GB RAM. The device said to be support dual camera setup in rear with 4K video capabilities and dual-tone flash.
In addition, Mi 6 is hinted to arrive with 4000mAh battery quipped Quick Charge Technology and USB Type-C port. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to run on Android 7.0 Nougat wrapped under MIUI OS. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB with MicroSD card support. The Mi 6 is rumoured to be priced at 1999 Yuan for the standard variant, while the premium variant will come with a price tag of 2499 Yuan. Source: Thebitbag
