Nokia 8 Leaked Specs Include Snapdragon 835, 5.7-Inch QHD Display, 24MP Camera

Although the first Nokia-branded smartphone announced by HDM Global is a mid-range device, fans of the Finnish company should not despair. The first Nokia-branded flagship smartphone in a long time will be officially unveiled in late February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade fair.

Courtesy of Total Tech, we already know the smartphone is internally known as Nokia Supreme, and that it will be launched on the market as Nokia 8. Before going into more details, it’s worth mentioning the Nokia 8 aka Nokia Supreme was on display at Qualcomm’s booth at CES 2017, but few noticed it.

Moving on to the actual specs, the Nokia 8 is HDM Global’s flagship, so it will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. That’s most likely the reason it was showcased at the US chipset maker’s booth last week.

Aside from the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor, Nokia 8 is said to boast a large 5.7-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It’s not a dual-edge curved display, but a flat Super AMOLED screen.

HMD will also launch a slightly cheaper version of the Nokia 8, which will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor instead of the Snapdragon 835 chipset.

Another selling point of the phone will be the 24-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and Super EIS. In the front, the phone will pack a secondary 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

There will be two variants of the Nokia 8 based on the amount of storage: 64GB and 128GB. Both will feature microSD card for memory expansion (up to 256GB).

Other highlights of the phone include led notification light, dual front facing speakers, and fingerprint sensor. Since Nokia 6 ships with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, the Nokia 8 flagship is likely to run the same version of the operating system. Source: softpedia
